Verdel Meacham

Verdel Meacham was born a New Year’s baby in the year of 1932, and finished her Earthly journey on June 8, 2022. She was 90 years old. Verdel was an incredible seamstress. She sewed her children’s clothing and costumes, and did alterations for ZCMI for many years.

Through the same years that Verdel worked for ZCMI she worked for Granite School district as a Title One teacher’s aide. The kids were her love and through the children she found her calling. After retiring from Granite, Verdel continued to help the children at Primary Children’s Hospital by sewing surgery dolls. She delivered about 90 dolls every 6 weeks for over 8 years.

Verdel loved to crochet, and she crocheted beautiful Christmas stockings, for all of her children and grandchildren, and her friends and their families as well. Having Christmas stockings on the mantel, from Verdel, is just part of her beautiful legacy. Her giving spirit will live on in the memory of all who knew her.

In the second half of her life, Verdel was married to Dean (Deno) Meacham. Her life with Deno was filled with joy and love. They always welcomed friends and family to their home to celebrate birthdays and holidays.

Verdel had 3 children. Brett Hardy, Dalynn Rohatsch, and Shon Hardy. Verdel was a great, great Grandmother at the time of her death.

Verdel was preceded in death by her husband Deno Meacham, and her son Shon Hardy.

Mom, your journey has moved beyond this Earthly life, but I will see you again in another place and another time.
