Verna Anderson

Verna Christensen Anderson was born April 17, 1912. She died November 2, 2006, at her daughter?s home in West Haven. She had lived in the same house in Bountiful for the past 58 years. Verna was born in Brigham City, the fifth of ten children, to Inez Dick and Eli Lachonius Christensen. She is survived by two sisters, May Parker and Inez Richardson. Verna married Shirl Robert Anderson on August 9, 1933. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 24, 1961. They had two children: Robert Shirl DeAnn Anderson of Bountiful and Susan Lewis Dan of West Haven. Shirl died July 8, 1989. Their posterity includes eight grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Verna moved to Bountiful in 1941 where she worked in retail stores for over 30 years – first at Hayward?s Bakery, then at the children?s clothing store, Mother Goose, and finally at Emilee?s, a women?s apparel shop. She was an avid reader and a sports fan, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.
