Verna Francis

Verna Olsen Francis, 78, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away peacefully in her home on December 15, 2013. She was born 12 May 1935 to Robert Joseph and Caroline Rigtrup Olsen in Lake Shore, UT. In 1953 she graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem, UT. Verna married Vaughn Elgin Francis on April 20, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Soda Springs, ID; Lake Shore, Ferron, Vernal, and Fruit Heights, UT. Verna is survived by her husband Vaughn Francis and 5 Children; Paul (Debbie) Francis of Cedar Hills, Wendell (Julie) Francis of Pleasant Grove, Bonnie (Tim) Hartsuck of Bradenton, FL, Teresa Francis of Dallas, TX, Grant (Andrea) Francis of Kuna, ID; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, siblings; Robert (Erma) Olsen of Orem, Beth (Theo) Dunham of Salt Lake, and J Rex Olsen of Lake Shore. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Deon (Arthur) Allgaier, Leila (Richard) Daybell, and sister-in-law Carol (J Rex) Olsen.
She is a member and selfless servant of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held several leadership positions including Relief Society President and Counselor and served in the Philippines Cabanatuan mission with her husband. A viewing will be held Friday December 20 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Funeral Home 1941 N. Main, Farmington, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the Fruit Heights Stake Center 170 N. Mt. Road, with viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
