Verna Lehner

Verna Maye Lawrence Lehner passed away on January 10, 2008 in Bountiful, Utah . Verna was born July 18, 1913 in Dickenson, North Dakota to Ira Russell Lawrence and Lena Maye Truax. She was lovingly known as G.G. or Gram to her family. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Shaw Larry; grandchildren, Kathy Baird Russell,, Larry Lewis Lourdes, Lisa Shaw and Dawn Jenkins Mike; twelve great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. She married Mathew G. Lehner 75 years ago on Christmas Eve. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Mathew; daughter, Margaret; Margaret’s baby daughter and son Greg; her grandson Donald Shaw and her sister Eleanor Lunde. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having joined the church in her later years and was sealed to her husband in the Los Angeles LDS Temple for time and all eternity. She had great compassion and served as a Relief Society President while living in San Diego, California with President Faust’s daughter as her councilor. She also served a mission in Tennessee with her husband, Mathew. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in the chapel at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street. A viewing will precede the funeral by one hour. Burial will be in the family plot in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
