Verona Marie Wood Conners

Verona Marie (Wood) Conners returned home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 17th, 2018 surrounded by her family. She is Survived by her husband James E Conners, their 3 children Steve Conners, Barbara Moore Johnson (Mark), Michael Conners (Arick). Their 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends, Preceded in death by children twins Sarah and Margaret Conners.  Verona was born on January 21st 1932 in Bountiful Utah on a very cold winter day to her parents Beatrice Fullmer and George Cotton Wood Jr.  She is the youngest of 8 siblings and loved being in a BIG family on the farm.  She graduated from Davis High School. She was a true believer in the gospel teachings of the LDS Church and loved to attend when she was well and able. She was a sunbeam teacher for many, many years and loved being around children. She said for years she always wanted a family big enough to fill a whole row in a church pew. She always cherished her and Jim's wonderful garden filled with her favorite flowers, herbs and yummy vegetables and raspberries, which she took and made the most delicious homemade raspberry jam every June and July. She just loved having a growing family and she enjoyed spending time with ALL of her grandchildren when she could.  She was one of the most loving and compassionate people you could have ever met and proved thousands of times that her love was unlike any other. Her hugs were warmest and her smile sweetest. She may not be in sight anymore, but she will remain ingrained in our minds and our hearts for eternity by those who loved and cherished her the absolute most.  Till we meet again.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Val Verda 8th Ward, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and Tuesday morning 9:45-10:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
