Our beloved mother Vicki Larsen Beecher, age 66, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011. Vicki was born to Thelma Hadfield Larsen and Richard Larsen on August 4, 1944. Vicki grew up in Brigham City with her two sisters (Kathy & Carol Ann) and enjoyed many fond and cherished memories with her grandparents and extended family. Vicki attended Box Elder High School, graduating in 1962. She was active in school and loved being a cheerleader. She also won Miss Congeniality in the Brigham City Peach Queen contest. She later attended Utah State University and Weber State University focusing on business and marketing. Through one of her friends (and future sister-in-law), Vicki met David Beecher whom she married on March 15, 1964. They raised five wonderful children who were the light of her life: Brian, Chris, Tony, Jon and Holly. Vicki and Dave divorced after 19 years.
Vicki always made friends easily and had a unique ability to make those around her feel welcome. A natural people-person, she was always making new friends while keeping her childhood friends close. She was still in touch with her childhood friendsgoing on trips, dinners and watching movies together. Those who knew her best would agree she was the life of the party.
Because of her outgoing nature and love of people, she excelled at her career in the healthcare industry. She worked at Primary Childrens Hospital as an Outpatient Manager, a job she loved because of the lives it impacted. She then moved on to marketing positions with Coram Infusion Company, Rocky Mountain Home Care and later founded Hospice Alliance where she served as the marketing director. Vicki loved her job and was proud of the end-of-life care and home health care her company provided. At the time of her death, Vicki was working for Applegate Hospice, where she was able to put her considerable people skills to use meeting with doctors and checking on patients to ensure they were getting the best of care.
Vicki loved her family and found special joy in her seven grandchildren. She was never more proud than when talking about the achievements of her grandkids. We will greatly miss her compassionate, kind presence.
Vicki is survived by her father and stepmother (Carol); her sisters Carol Ann (Mike) Lorscheider and Kathy (Lindsay)Curtis; her children Brian (Krissy)Beecher, Tony(Erica)Beecher, Jon Beecher and Holly (Chris) Bowerman; and her grandchildren Brittany, Sarah, Matthew, Hailey, Brandon, Trevor and Anderson. She was preceded in death by her mother, her stepfather Jay Olsen and her son, Christopher.
