Vicki Yurth

Vicki Yurth, age 65, passed away at home June 8, 2015.

Vicki was born October 7, 1949 in Price, Utah to Calvin Junior and Betty June  Jewkes. She spent her early years in Kenilworth and Salt Lake City, Utah and attended school in Layton and Kaysville, Utah.

Vicki graduated from Davis High School in 1967 where she was actively involved in the D’Ette drill team, dance and musical productions. During high school, Vicki spent her summers as a lifeguard at The Layton City Pool.  She loved to swim and participated on a synchronized swim team. She studied at Weber State University. While there, she met and married David G. Yurth in 1968, later divorced.

Vicki, from an early age, had a great love for music and dance.  Vicki had a particular love for ballet and studied many years at The Clytie Adams School of Ballet. Vicki later became an instructor for Clytie. Vicki was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings.

Vicki was a kind, loving and caring person. She loved to knit, crochet and make bead jewelry. She found great joy in giving hand made gifts to those she loved. Throughout her life she had many jobs but found the most satisfaction as an aide in local facilities. She gave loving service to those she cared for.  Vicki found joy and considered it a privilege to support her father, Calvin, when his health began to fail. She provided constant care and service until Calvin passed away in 2011.

Vicki is survived by her son, Michael G. Yurth and wife Kate, Grandview, Washington; daughter Jennifer E. Yurth Salt Lake City, Utah; grandson Dawson Yurth; her brother Steven H. Jewkes and wife Jennette, Kaysville, Utah.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. A visitation will be held at 10:00am prior to the service. Inurnment -Kaysville City Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com
