Vickie Eileen Blackham, our sweet and loving mother, sister, aunt, grand-mother, and 'pal' left this earthly life on October 24, 2017, at the age of 74. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Vickie was born in Salt Lake City to her wonderful parents, Thomas and Ruth Allen, and was raised in the Highland area where she graduated from Granite High School. Vickie continued her education in cosmetology and found her passion as a hairdresser and salon owner. Her talent of art and beauty were the focus of her pastimes as well, where she created ceramics and other crafts and also beautifully decorated and designed her home. A tremendous part of Vickie's heart belonged to her beloved pets and animals of all kinds. She found the love of her life, Richard Blackham, and together had an incredible journey for 43 years. Life was just a good time whenever Vickie was around. Her vivacious energy made every party, holiday, and special occasion the best ever and her self-less generosity was unmatched and felt by all.
Vickie leaves behind her devoted husband, Richard, son Bren (Janelle), daughter Amie (Seth Hales), brother Len Allen, nieces and nephews, and 3 beautiful grand-daughters Kaitlyn, Kamryn, and Evelyn whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Hockett, and sister-in-law LaRee Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Lone Hollow Ward, 2195 East Pepperwood Drive, Sandy, Utah, where a viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
