Virginia L. Moss

November 27, 1928 — March 22, 2017

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend Virginia L. Moss, 88 of Draper, Utah, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017, of natural causes. She was born on November 27, 1928, in Salt Lake City, to Harold Christian Larsen and Ellen Golda Petersen. She was the youngest of 5 siblings and the only girl. She graduated from South High School and went on to attended both BYU and the University of Utah receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work (Child Psychology) in 1950. She was a life-long faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served two missions for the church, the first in the Austrian/French mission from 1950 t0 1952, and a second in the Suva, Fiji mission from 1995 to 1997. Following her French mission, she remained in Europe and studied languages at the University of Zurich in Switzerland until 1953, during which time she skied for the university ski team. Following her return to the United States, she was offered employment at the United Nations as an interpreter and lived in New York for nearly a year.  
She returned to Utah in 1955 and met and married T. Vaughan Moss in the Salt Lake City temple, on November 8, 1956, and together raised four children. With her widespread language skills and travel experience, she was able to work in the travel industry for many, many years, and had the opportunity to travel extensive with her family. She loved being with her family, working in her garden growing fruits and vegetables, playing the organ and singing, helping others, and fulfilling her church callings.  
She is survived by her four children, Tim (Sue), Steve (Shelley), Tod (Lisa), and Shar Erickson (Todd). She has 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four older brothers.
A viewing will take place at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main on Friday, March 31st, 2017, between 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1st 2017, at the LDS chapel at 1500 South 800 West, in Woods Cross, UT, beginning at 11:00 AM, with a viewing from 10:00 – 10:45 AM, prior to the service. Interment will be at Elysian Gardens Cemetery. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
We would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of the Life Care Center in Bountiful, the Welcome Home Assisted living facility of Bountiful, and the Brighton Hospice Care group for the wonderful love and caring they showed toward Mom during these last few weeks.
