Virginia North Pitcher 1914 – 2010

Virginia North Pitcher passed away at home peacefully on April 30, 2010. She was an independent woman with a strong spirit – a real fighter. She was born April 18, 1914 in Holladay, Utah to John Addison and May Park North. She was the youngest of eight children. She grew up during the depression, which left it’s mark on her life. It caused her to be a hard worker and to be careful with her money. She was an independent thinker and left a legacy of hard work. She married Adrian Pitcher in 1935 and they had one child, Gayle. Virginia was an accomplished seamstress and made clothing and draperies. She started several businesses on her own, and ran an upholstery and interior design shop with her husband. They had many friends in Twin Falls, Idaho and Tucson, AZ with whom they enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing cards. Virginia is survived by her daughter Gayle Kirkman Jim of Bountiful, Ut, and grandchildren Lyn Kirkman, Kim Martin Dusty, Rian Kirkman Sue, Roger Kirkman Julie and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Adrian and her brothers and sisters. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Life Care in Bountiful and Vista Care Hospice services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where a visitation will be held prior to the services from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
