Vonelda Sheppard

May 13, 1925 — April 1, 2014

Our loving mom, grandma, and great-grandma, Vonelda Alice Erickson Sheppard returned to her
Heavenly Father on April 1, 2014 at the age of 89. She was looking forward to the reunion with her husband, Bill, her parents, and brother, Evan, all of whom preceded her in death.
Vonelda was born May 13, 1925 in Hinckley, Utah to Charles and Etta Erickson.
Vonelda graduated from Grantsville High School where she was Valedictorian. She loved reading, learning new things and traveling.
Vonelda married William Searle Sheppard on November 12, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Bill and Vonelda enjoyed serving as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. After Bill passed April 2, 2002, Vonelda continued faithfully serving in the Bountiful Temple. She also worked many years as a volunteer at Lakeview Hospital.
Vonelda is survived by her brother, Wayne Erickson; 3 children: Susan (Paul) Burton, Kathy (Steve) Fryer, Craig (Tonya) Sheppard. Vonelda took great joy in her 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
We love you mom, and will miss your sweet, caring spirit. Your grandchildren and great-grandchildren were so lucky to have been blessed by your love and kindness.
You will be missed.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Inn at Barton Creek and Horizon Hospice for the loving care they have given our mom.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. Online guestbook at www.russonmortuary.com.
