Biography

Wallace K Reed was born March 13, 1923 in Bountiful, Utah. Passed away on November 10, 2014. Wallace was the son of Perry Jones Reed and Alice Beatrice Kirby. He grew up and spent his lifetime in Bountiful. After graduating Davis High School he attended the University of Utah until joining the army and serving in World War II in the 1886th Engineer Aviation Battalion. He was trained as a surveyor and built runways and support buildings in Guam and Okinawa. When the war ended he returned home and back to the U of U. His mother convinced him he should learn ballroom dancing so he enrolled at the Jackson School of Dancing in Salt Lake, which is where he meet his sweetheart of 63 years, Naomi Durfee. Wallace and Naomi were married May 12, 1951 and Solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1983. Wallace worked for Boise Cascade as a bookkeeper and assistant manager for 35 years. He enjoyed road trips and explored the western United States and Canada. He also enjoyed woodworking, skiing, and gardening. In his later years he was a loving caregiver to Naomi and his sister Florence.
Wallace was preceded in death by his wife Naomi and leaves behind Son David ( Leslie ) 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren. We would like to thank Envision Hospice and Heritage Place Care Center for the loving care and friendship they gave to Wallace.
A graveside service will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery, Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. 2224 S 200 W. A viewing will be held Friday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful prior to graveside.
