The world has lost an amazing wife, mother, sister, Nana Jo, aunt, and friend on Friday, September 25, 2015. Wanda Jo Dillman Moscon Benton was an invincible woman who never used the words, "I can't". I won't". "It's impossible." Although Wanda had many obstacles to overcome in her life, she found ways to serve her community, friends, family, and God. She touched others while here on this earth as she spread her zest for life and joy in family. Wanda was born March 7, 1949 to parents Walter Earl and Claudia Bingham Dillman in Safford, Az. She grew up in multiple states in an Air Force family.
She married her first husband, Fred C. Moscon in the Oakland temple on August 30, 1969. He was killed in a military training flight in 1974. She married James L. Benton on October 1, 1977, in the Oakland Temple.
She is survived by her father, Walter Earl Dillman, her husband James L. Benton, and daughters Vicki Miller (Craig), Claudia Taylor (Jesse), and Natalie Salazar (Christian), two stepchildren, Jimmy Benton (Colleen) and Ann Fultz (Gary), her sister Jennifer Felt (David), as well as 18 adoring grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, a daughter, Shauna Lynn, and a grandson, Christopher Joseph Taylor.
Wanda was an active, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving through the years as a Relief Society president, several times as a Relief Society counselor, a nursery leader, and a primary teacher in her beloved primary. Although legally blind, she used her many talents as a wedding caterer, flower designer, and needle point artist.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, September 29 from 6-8 pm. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main in Bountiful, and at 9:45-10:45 am before the services on Wednesday September 30 at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel at 1460 North Morton Drive in Salt Lake City.
