Warren Lee Grimsrud passed away peacefully on July 19th, 2021, at the age of 80 in Bountiful, Utah surrounded by his loving family.
Warren was born July 27, 1940, in Broadus, Montana to Kathryn and Orvin Grimsrud. Warren spent his childhood summers at his grandfather’s homestead in Antelope, MT. He graduated from Billings High School in 1957. After graduation he worked at the Old Faithful Lodge at Yellowstone National Park. It was there that he met his future wife, Deanna. He served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA. He married Deanna on June 6, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after many years as an aircraft mechanic.
Warren and Deanna were blessed with three wonderful children: two sons and one daughter. They raised their children in Bountiful, UT and have lived in the same home for more than 50 years. Warren’s favorite calling was scouting and youth programs and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Warren and Deanna served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Spokane, WA mission from 2004-2006.
Warren is survived by his wife of 56 years, children Stephanie (Craig) and Erik (Jamie), nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and sister Luita. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark.
A viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful on Sunday July 25, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Val Verda Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful, UT., where a viewing will be held from 10-10:45 AM prior to the services. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
