Wayne Norris Clark passed away peacefully at Legacy House in Farmington, Utah on March 10, 2019. Wayne was born on May 2, 1934 to Ira Clark and Jennetta McNeil Clark in Logan, Utah and was their only child.
Wayne graduated from Preston High School in 1952. After High School, he spent 1954 – 1956 serving in the East Germany Mission. Wayne spoke fondly of his time in Germany and often expressed his love for the area and its people. He married his eternal sweetheart, Coleen Trimming Clark, in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 11, 1958 where they were sealed for time and eternity. They settled in both Laie, Hawaii and Fresno, California where they raised their three children. After retirement, Wayne and Coleen packed up and moved to Syracuse, Utah.
Wayne had a lifelong love of learning and often quipped he spent 65 years of his life at school. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in 1958. Wayne’s hard work paid off in 1968 and he achieved a PhD in Public Health from Utah State University. He really enjoyed his time as Professor at Church College of Hawaii and Fresno State University.
Being an only child, dad was thrilled to gain a second family when he married mom. The Horrocks and Trimmings were dear to his heart and he treated them like his own family. Dad often recalled the memories of bringing John over to Hawaii to live with him and mom and took great pride that this is where John met his sweetheart Norma. Wayne loved deer hunting with his nephews; Johnny, Carl and Donald and bird hunting with Paul and Mike. He cherished those times camping with family and getting up early for the hunt. Wayne loved the small things in life such as Diet Coke, Costco, gardening, cooking, Aggie ice cream and summer trips to Yellowstone. Wayne will be remembered most for his love and patience while taking care of Mom.
Wayne was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many callings throughout the years. He loved to sing Church Hymns as he went about his day and had a sure faith he would be reunited with Mom.
