Wella Johanne Fuchs
(Oma)
Wella Johanne Schaarschmidt Fuchs, age 90, passed away September 4, 2012 in West Valley City.
She was born December 3, 1921 in Geyersdorf, Germany, to Paul Edwald Schaarschmidt and Olga Rosa Richter. She married Guido Rinaldo Fuchs on April 8, 1950 in Geyersdorf, Germany. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Alberta LDS Temple. Oma loved the gospel with all of her heart. She was a valiant member of the LDS Church and served in many positions. She served a mission with her husband, Guido, to the Frankfurt, Germany Mission. Oma loved to sing (she sang up until the end), hunt mushrooms, was a master knitter (knitting something for all of her loved ones), helped Opa with stamps and she especially loved to count coins. She loved to cook for her family. Everyone will miss her spankings. She was a very hard worker all of her life. She had a special place in her heart for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved everyone and no one left without a hug and a kiss.
She is survived by her children, Reinhard G. (Alison), Armin R. (Cheryl), Marlene (Lyle) Savage and Launa (Dennis) Ballatore, 28 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guido, son Arndt (Waltraud), and their son Michael.
Many thanks to the compassionate care given by Love Hospice, especially Josh, Sean and Sonja. Special thanks to the Young Men and young Women and the leaders of the Nordic Valley Ward for their loving service.
