Wendy Star Hancock Liechty

December 13, 1974 — May 22, 2018

Wendy Star Hancock Liechty, an angel among angels, passed away surrounded by loved ones on May 22, 2018, five years and one day following her diagnosis with Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade IV. Wendy was a devoted wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. She was born on December 13, 1974 in Salt Lake City to Ranae Margo Keller and Crae Forrest Hancock. She married David Calder Liechty in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 28, 2010. She had one daughter, Shaya Ranae Liechty Cardinal, and was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Flora Keller.  Wendy enjoyed running road races from a very young age. She was involved in varsity cross-country and track during high school and went on to co-found and captain the San Francisco Road Runner's club. Wendy was well-liked by many and held positions as Prom Queen and Student Body President. She played the violin and excelled as an artist which could be seen throughout her delectable baking creations, including wedding cakes. Wendy was a self-taught home designer and contractor and enjoyed international travel, SCUBA, camping and exploring. She loved bunnies, children, and other people (not necessarily in that order). She had a way of loving and accepting people that drew them to her throughout her life and during her many travels. She was a personification of true Christ-like love, positivity, and service and was a light and inspiration to many.  Wendy’s patience as a mother was unsurpassed.  Her relationship with Heavenly Father was deep and unbreakable.  We miss her dearly.
