On November 30th, 2021, Wesley C. Argyle, more often known as Wes, “went not gentle into the good night” at the age of 66, at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah, after a short, yet intense battle with the Covid-19 virus and its unforgiving complications. He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital with his wife, and they passed away within 12 days of each other, they were truly together in life and in death.
Wes was born on November 20th, 1955, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harold Clyde Fugit and Raeola Argyle, just a short 11 miles from where he passed away.
Wes attended and graduated high school from Viewmont High School (Bountiful, Utah) in June of 1974. He enrolled in college at the University of Utah and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science on March 19th, 1977. He then continued his schooling at the University of Utah Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor on May 24th, 1980. Wes was admitted to the Utah State Bar on October 9th, 1980.
Wes met and found his true love and married his eternal companion, Shelley Higgins, on May 26th, 1983, in the Salt Lake Temple. Shelley and Wes settled down in a little red brick house in West Bountiful, Utah with her 7-year-old son, from a previous marriage, and they grew their family by one in 1985 when their son, Robert, was born.
Even at a young age, Wes was a hard and dedicated worker. He made many tough decisions in his life, and always made sure that taking care of all his family, the family home and the property was at the top of his list. As his law career began and changed throughout the years, he worked hard to start up and maintain his own law practice and moved his office location several times throughout the Salt Lake Valley. When he was called to serve as Bishop in his local LDS ward, he was able to locate his office to Bountiful, to be closer to serve those who would come to rely upon him. Wes always made sure to help those that came to him and always made sure that he served them above and beyond what was needed.
He was not a loud or boisterous man, Wes hated any attention, praise and acts of appreciation from others, but what he truly loved was his family, his wife, children, mother, sister, uncles, and his church family with all of his heart and soul. He will be deeply missed by those who are left behind, who rely and leaned upon him and his talents.
Wes is survived by his sons, Robert Argyle, West Bountiful, Utah; Aaron (Karen) Eisenbarth, Syracuse, Utah; Sister, Gayle Argyle, West Bountiful, Utah; Sister-In-Law Sharon Higgins, Pocatello, Idaho; and Grandchildren Ashley & Ethan Wesley Eisenbarth, Syracuse, Utah.
Wes is preceded in death by his wife Shelley Argyle, parents, Harold Clyde Fugit and Raeola Argyle, and his Uncles Cal and Ether Argyle and many other of his Argyle family members.
