Weston J. Hirschi, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, returned to his heavenly home on July 28, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born April 16, 1930 in Brigham City, Utah to Louis Arnold Hirschi and Elizabeth Ann Goodliffe. He grew up on a ranch in Park Valley, Utah where from a young age he learned the importance of a strong work ethic. Though life was challenging on the ranch during the depression era, it created many of his fondest memories. After graduating from Box Elder High School he served an LDS mission in the New England States Mission. He later served in the Army ROTC for 8 years.
He married his sweetheart, Beverly Dianne Winter, in January 1956 in the LDS Logan Temple. They enjoyed 61 years together and had 3 children. Their first home was in Ogden, Utah where he commuted to Logan to finish college. He graduated from Utah State University in 1956 in Civil Engineering. He enjoyed a successful career with the Bureau of Reclamation where he was heavily involved in various water projects. His career took him to Boulder City, Nevada where he and his family enjoyed living many years before returning once again to Utah. He took great pride in his work. He was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many callings. He loved to read the newspaper and listen to the radio while drinking a Mtn Dew. His favorite times were spent traveling, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He was a kind, generous man and a constant example of faith, honesty and hard work.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; their children, Ross (Laura) Hirschi, Sharla Thompson and Darlene (Shaun) Smith; one grandson, Jeffrey; four granddaughters, Amy, Kimberly, Kristen and Meghan and two great-granddaughters, Kayleigh and Laila. Also survived by his sisters, Joyce (Keith) Meldrum, and Virginia (Carl) Lorscheider. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Wayne (Faunell), Maun (Cozetta) and Delbert (Marvell).
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful people at Legacy House of Bountiful and Aspire Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of our dad. We appreciate each and every one of you.
