Les passed away peacefully Sunday August 22, 2021 with his loving wife Gaye Robinson at his side. Les was born June 20, 1937 in Long Beach, California. He was raised in the Long Beach area and graduated from High School in February of 1955. He was married to the love of his life Gaye Robinson on Sept. 17, 1955. They lived in Compton, California and he went to Compton Jr. College as a vocational student while serving an apprenticeship as a Machinist at Western Gear Works. He finished his apprenticeship in 1960. In October 1960, they moved to Layton, Utah with their two oldest children. While in Layton, they had four more children. Daughter Dori Grandjean, a stillborn child, 1 granddaughter and 1 great granddaughter preceded Les in death. He is survived by wife Gaye Robinson and children Dan and (Becky) Robinson, Debby and (Eric) Tholen, Dawn and (Rod) Webb, Noal Robinson-Davis (Mike). He had 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Les worked as a Machinist/Tool and Die Maker throughout his adult life working mostly in the Defense and Aerospace Industry. He was an excellent and well-respected tradesman. In retirement, he mowed lawns for the Davis County Golf Course, which he loved because he got to golf free. He was a Crossing Guard for Layton City until he was 83 yrs. old
He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He lived a life of service in the church . He held many positions all of which he was very proud. He had a firm never wavering testimony that God lives and Jesus is the Christ.
