Wilford Dolder

April 28, 1934 — December 4, 2012

Biography

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Wilford Scott Dolder passed away December 4, 2012 surrounded by his family at age 78. Scott followed his sweetheart Mary into eternity just 4 1/2 months after her passing. Scott was born April 28, 1934 in Arimo, ID to Leo Dolder and Lois Olsen Dolder. Scott grew up in Arimo enjoying camping, fishing, ice skating and other sports. He was a natural athlete and standout basketball player at North Marsh High School. Following high school Scott served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe. He graduated from Utah State University as an electrical engineer and worked most of his life at Hill Air Force Base. Scott married his eternal companion Mary Price in the Salt Lake Temple on September 5, 1957. He and Mary lived for a short time in California before settling in Bountiful, Utah. Scott and Mary were blessed with three beautiful children, Karen, Michael and Jennifer. Scott was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served the Lord in many callings during his life, including a service mission with Mary. Scott was a man of great intelligence, integrity, faith, and determination. He worked hard, and he loved to bring his ideas to life, whether it be building furniture, home remodeling or gardening, he enjoyed working with his own hands and seeing the fruits of his labors. Simply, he got things done.

The greatest legacy of Scott’s life lies in his relationship with his lovely wife. The two were perfectly matched. Their hobbies intertwined and their talents and personalities complemented each other wonderfully. A skilled wood-worker, Scott created beautiful pieces of furniture, displayed in his home and those of his children and grandchildren. Often, Scott would build a piece of furniture and his wife Mary would paint it.

He enjoyed camping, golfing, traveling, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He and Mary cultivated special relationships with each of their grandchildren. They made their home a haven, and enjoyed regular visits from the grandchildren up until the time of Scott’s death. For Scott, his family was his greatest joy. He is now reunited with his loving sweetheart. We love you dad!

Scott is survived by his children Karen (Jeff) Wride, Michael (Susan) Dolder, and Jennifer (Ryan) Jensen, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, Brother Doug (Linda) Dolder, and sisters Diane (William) Turner and Lisa (Richard) Rosa, and many other extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary, and parents.
