William Baker

June 26, 1957 — February 7, 2021

William  was born June 26, 1957 in Denver, Colorado to Willis and Eilene Baker  He joined a family of 4 sisters, then several years later another sister joined the family.

William was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He served  in the Canada Toronto Mission from 1976 – 1978   In June of 1980 he met the love of his life Glenda Williams.  They were married August 23, 1980 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

William and Glenda are the parents of 6 wonderful children,  for William his world revolved around the love of his life, his children and 13 grand children.  He made sure that his children and grand children knew how much he loved them, whether by it was a phone call, text, or in person he always let them know how much cared about them.  His love of John Wayne movies and chocolate was passed down to his children and many grand children.

Many of William’s ancestors were from Denmark. After they were taught the gospel of Jesus Christ by missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, they joined the church, left their homes, made the difficult journey across the ocean to America, and then crossed the plains in handcarts to Utah.  William found a great deal strength as he read about their lives.

Through out his life William faced difficult challenges and hardships never letting them defeat him, he drew on the strength of his ancestors and his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to continue to move forward along life’s pass.

He is survived by his wife Glenda of 40 years; 4 daughter: Erica (Joey) Bishop, Mindi (Randy) Kam, Nikki (Josh) Irwin, JoLisa (Cesar) Rodriguez; 2 sons Michael (Heather) Baker and Brent (Anjela) Baker.  His 13 grand children: Katrina Bishop, Brett Bishop, Dee Bishop, Easton Bishop, Phillip Bishop, Stryker Bishop, Brooke Irwin, Alex Irwin, Baby boy Rodriguez ( due to arrive in March), William Baker Jr., McKinlee Baker, Harmony Baker, Russell Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Eilene Baker, Gene and Arlene Williams and brother-in-law Gavin Williams.
