William Wolf Barr Junior, Lieutenant Commander US Navy retired, was born in Dallas, Texas on January 6, 1937. He passed away on April 6, 2023 at the age of 87.
Bill was honored as an Eagle Scout at the age of 14. He joined the Navy at age 17 1/2 with his mothers permission after graduating from Highland Park High School, Dallas. He started as an electrician and was later selected for the first Navy Seals team.
After his tour in the military was completed, he returned to Dallas to study electrical engineering, at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he received his associate degree. He then moved to Denver where he attended Denver University, and received his degree in Business Administration. An entrepreneur at heart, Bill loved technology and electronics. He pioneered in one of the first computer coding languages.
Bill is survived by his wife, Diane McKay Barr and his children, Wendy Barr (Eric), Sherry Barr and Steven Barr, and his grandchildren Gracie Rubio, and Steven A. Barr (Kierra) and their daughter his great granddaughter, Shia.
Funeral services will be held at Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah on April 13th 2023 at 11:00 am, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30am. Followed by burial at the Salt Lake Cemetery with full military honors.
Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary and Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page. The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
