William (Bill) Reed Smith

February 18, 1936 — May 14, 2017

Born in Bountiful, Utah to William Howard Smith and Lois Goodfellow.  He was raised in Bountiful with his brothers Mack (Carolyn) and Jlynn (Linda) and sister Cindy (Scott Hatch).  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, LuDean Anderson Smith, children, Howard Dean (Brenda), Craig Anderson (Susie), Shauna Smith Thurgood (L. Neil), Reed Anderson (Gloria), Scott Harris (Abby), Dennette Smith, Sonja Green (Ron), 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.  
Bill lived in Trenton, Utah and worked in Brigham City at Thiokol. He also worked maintenance at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His biggest joy was working and owning a dairy farm in Woods Cross which brought lots of memories and joy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many callings in the Church but the one he enjoyed the most was that of Home Teaching.   He is known for his love of volunteer reading to the children at Washington Elementary School and an avid supporter of the Boy Scout Program.  
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Barton Creek Ward, 640 S 750 E, Bountiful, UT.  Friends and family may visit from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Russon Mortuary 295 N Main, Bountiful, UT or on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.  Interment will be at the Lake View Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would request donations be made to the Davis Education Foundation, Washington Elementary reading program.
