William H. Nienke
At home January 21, 2018 just after midnight a special man flew with the angels. Loving Husband, Father (Pops), and Grandfather, Bill Nienke leaves behind his Wife of 26 years Joanie, three Children, Will, Karen, and Angie, and two Grandsons, Logan and Udo.
Bill was born November 29, 1945 to Vernita Schmidt and Elmer Nienke, grew up in Clintonville, Wisconsin, graduated Clintonville High School and Milwaukee Technical College. Bill married Jacqueline n e Posik in 1965 (deceased in 1989) and later married Joan Bell Ruff on March 9, 1991. Bill was a hard worker and the youngest Vice President for Hussman Refrigeration Corporation. Bill had many career opportunities and moved his family from Milwaukee, Kentucky, Texas and finally settled in Utah, where he started his own contracting business Nienke Enterprises, which he took great pride in and loved every minute. Ultimately Bill retired to enjoy his family, golf, and travel.
Pops as he was so affectionately referred to, loved to live, he enjoyed playing tennis, winning many tournaments until his knee gave out and became an avid golfer; many days you could find him on the golf course with his buddies Erik, Rich, Richard, both Jacks, Jerry, John, Dick and anyone else that wanted to get out and enjoy the day. Pops also loved fine wine, food, traveling with his wife and kids and enjoyed teaching his grandsons to fish and golf. He loved to cook for his wife Joanie and anyone and everyone else that wanted to come over for dinners; presentation was everything. As a family we spent Sunday’s texting football scores, an avid Green Bay Packer fan, he also followed the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots, we loved our Sunday family football games.
Bill is survived by his Wife Joanie, Son William Peter, Jennifer Nienke, Step-daughters, Karen Zeile, Ivar Zeile, Andrea and Richard Matson and two grandsons Logan Nienke and Udo Zeile, Brother Robert and his wife Donna, Sister In-Law Lorie Nienke. Preceded in death by his first wife Jacqueline n e Posik and Brother Jerry Nienke.
A Memorial service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection located at 1131 South Main Street, Centerville, Utah, on February 2, 2018 at 11:00 am. Lunch will be served immediately following the services. The family would like to thank Russon Brothers Mortuary and South Davis Home Health & Hospice for their loving care.
