William Haugen

December 27, 1924 — July 2, 2014

William Francis Haugen passed away surrounded by family on July 2, 2014. He was born on December 27, 1924 in Norden, Wisconsin to Lewis Lars Haugen and Elsie Langert. He was a convert to the LDS Church and was baptized on April 15th 1945. He then married the love of his life, Doris Arvilla DeVore, on April 16th 1945. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 10, 1946.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict in 1946 and worked a Hill Air Force Base for 30 years. He opened Haugen Body & Repair in Farmington, UT in 1958. He retired in 1986 when they were called to serve a mission in the Washington, DC Temple. They also served in the Ogden, UT and Bountiful, UT Temples. He held many callings in the Church with his last one as a greeter at the chapel door for the Farmington 1st Ward.
He loved to travel with friends, dance, and to watch westerns. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and one grandchild. He is survived by his 2 sons James (Fran) and Larry (Julia), 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main Street, Farmington, UT on Sunday, July 6th from 6-8pm and Monday at the Rock Church, 272 N. Main, Farmington, UT from 9:30-10:30am with a graveside service at 11am at the Farmington City Cemetery.
