William Lee Morris
3/28/1940 – 5/17/2012

William Lee Morris passed away peacefully on May 17, 2012. He was born March 28, 1940 to Robert Lee Morris and Virginia Belle Hyde. He attended West High School where he made many lifelong friends. He joined the United States Army where he served in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany. He returned home and picked up where he left off, playing baseball with friends. He was hired on by then Sperry Univac, where he worked for 27 years. He later worked for I/O Corporation for 11 years. He married Kathleen Joann Homer on July 18, 1963 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Survived by his wife of 48 years and their 4 children; Wendy, LeAnne Jimenez (Roberto), Patricia Sutton (Michael), and Jeffery (Shannon); and his sister Roberta Stephens. Bill and Kathleen have 14 grandchildren and 2 grand dogs. The family would like to thank Amanda,Cheerstan and Corinne of Community Nursing Services for the tender love and care they gave to Bill the last three years of his life. Bill loved the Chicago Cubs, Utah Jazz, University of Utah sports, chocolate, milk, chocolate milk, making little wooden things and going to baseball games with his friend Gary Glissmeyer. He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Go Utes!
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cannon 9th Ward, 1250 West 1400 South, Salt Lake City. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, and prior to services at the ward Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave. & “N” Street.
