William Quick

April 1, 1967 — August 16, 2014

Biography

William (Bill) Morris Quick, loving husband, father, son and loyal friend, born April 1, 1967 passed away August 16, 2014.
Born to kind and caring parents, Morris and Jane Quick, Blackfoot, Idaho. Bill spent his younger days growing up in Pocatello, Idaho as a fun and energetic boy, and was exceptional in church, school and athletic activities. Bill was highly motivated and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and also excelled in sports, most notably track and football. Bill set records in sports that still stand to this day and helped his Pocatello Rams win the state football championship during the 1984-1985 school year. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1985 and later served an honorable and successful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington, D.C. Mission. Upon returning from his mission, Bill married his sweetheart Teresa McDonald, of Bountiful, Utah, in the Salt Lake Temple on December 19, 1990. Bill graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Marketing and Communications and remained a dedicated and life-long U of U fan. Bill served diligently in his church callings as Young Men’s President, Elders Quorum President, Executive Secretary, and as 1st Counselor in the Bishopric. No one will ever forget his commanding, handsome appearance in the work place or Church, or his grittiness and determination at the Tough Mudder, Spartan and Ragnar races. Bill’s keen intellect, pleasant manner and inventive attitude led to great success with companies such as Cellular One, AT&T, Nextlink and Interform. While at Interform, Bill was the innovative mind that created a company named Frogzog, which was later sold to Deseret Digital Media where Bill worked until the present time.
Bill was a supportive father who loved his children and helped them achieve their goals whether in church, school, sports or music. Bill loved boating with his family and backpacking with his two boys–experiences he loved and enjoyed with his father as a young man. Bill’s kind, sweet spirit and generous nature always led him to perform service for others. Bill loved to be around and help older people. His gentle manner endeared him to both young and old. He said, “I learned my love of older people because of the love I had for my Grandmother Jones.”
Bill thought of others before he thought of himself and was always one to go the extra mile. Bill had a magnetic personality that was contagious and could light up a room in seconds. Bill is beloved by all and will be greatly missed.
Bill is survived by his wife Teresa, sons Christopher and Bradley, daughter Hope, parents Morris and Jane Quick, sister Elizabeth (Vince) Bowen, in-laws Bud and Marianne McDonald, brother-in-law Jerry (Stephanie) McDonald, sisters-in-law Jenny (Michael) Smith, Marcie (Brock) Andersen, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his grandparents and sister-in-law.
