Biography

William Clarence (Bill) Wesselman, 68, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2014, at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, Utah.
He was born September 22, 1945, in Evansville, Indiana, to Elizabeth Gartner and Clarence Wesselman. He graduated from the University of Evansville with an accounting degree, and went on to serve in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. While serving in the military, Bill received his MBA from Oklahoma City University. He later went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. Upon military retirement, he worked as an internal auditor in the private sector for nearly 20 years.
He is survived by his former wife and “mother of his children” Mary Anne Schmid, Alexandria, VA; William Wesselman, New York, NY; Brian Wesselman and wife Kristen, Oakton, VA; Megan Wesselman, Girdwood, AK; Colin Wesselman and wife Nina, Anchorage, AK. He leaves behind 5 beloved grandsons: Kye, Noah, Cameron, Kade and Jacob.
Known to many as Pops, he enjoyed the finer things in life, including traveling, golf, food and wine, and most importantly, time with family. He was a collector of many things, especially friends. He never met a stranger and had a knack for keeping in touch with people.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 1941 North Main in Farmington, UT. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
