Willis (“Bill”) Edward Berry

Dec 1919 – June 2015  Bountiful, Utah – He always tried to do the right thing. Our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at home on June 1 due to causes incident to old age. He was born to Edward Lawrence Berry and Leona Waddell Berry on December 06, 1919 in Park City, Utah where he grew up. He attended Brigham Young University for one year before returning to Park City to work in the silver mines. In 1940 he joined the U.S.Coast Guard and served during War II in the Pacific and European theatres In 1947 he married Vida Marian Casper of Midway, Utah in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After serving nine years in the Coast Guard he changed his vocation by joining Salt Lake Pipeline Company. From there he went to Chevron Oil, working at its Salt Lake refinery for 47 years. He loved all sports, playing freshman football at BYU. He loved his family and supported each member. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and one brother, and his son, Roger R. Berry. He is survived by his wife; brother, James (Lila); son David (Julie); daughter, Elaine McKay (Reed); daughter-in-law Susan; and multiple grandchildren and great -grandchildren.

Bill’s family would like to than the staff of Hearts for Home Hospice for their kindness and assistance during his last days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 North Main Street, Bountiful where a viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
