Wilvin Elwood B. Bowman passed away May 11, 2018 on a warm spring day in Bountiful, Utah. He was born December 16, 1928 at the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray, Utah to William Edward Bowman and Vera Marie Webb.
Elwood grew up in the Sugarhouse area, known for their sugar beets. It was there he attended school, and in 1943, was recommended for high school. He graduated from East High School in 1947. In 1949 he married Clara Jane Covert in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Elwood has a unique way to carry on his posterity. His initials spell his mother’s maiden name “WEBB”. What a fun, exciting way to bear his family name.
He drove the yellow cab for many years. He also had pin ball games in businesses. A familiar one is “Galaxy Planets”.
The last few years, Elwood has lived at the Life Care Center in Bountiful, Utah, where compassionate service was shown to him. Jenette, Michelle, Marba, Dana, many others, along with the sweet aids, and the rest of the staff, all showed that they enjoy what they do by their caring ways.
Elwood is survived by his sister, Marilyn Joy Bowman Peart, his children, Katheryn Marie Sylvester, Christine Laree Bowman, William Gary Bowman, Mark Eugene Bowman, and Sherrilynn “Sherry” Adderly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, Veaughn Edward Bowman, and two sons, Donald Lynn Winter and Lional David Bowman.
A graveside services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Riverton City Cemetery, 1540 West 13200 South, Riverton, UT 84065.
