It is with great sorrow that the family of Winston “Cecil” Craig, born on a beautiful summer day in July 20, 1942, announces that he has made his journey across the bridge on March 7, 2024.
While this departure comes with sadness and is bittersweet, he wants us to celebrate all of our memories that we created with him throughout our lifetimes. Which we all know that he has touched each one of us in so many amazing and great ways. His heart of gold and witty demeanor has brought countless smiles and warmed many hearts. There will be lots to miss now that he has accepted his journey. We are left with fragments of time and memories to carry us through the waves of grief.
With that, Cecil would like to let you know that his work here is completed. He received a call with an offer he could not refuse. This is an appointment that he will not be returning from. This assignment comes with great excitement and a reunion with family and friends that have accepted and already taken this journey. This new mission comes with job security, endless quarts of milk, pints of Haggen Daz, amazing pork tacos, endless warmth from the sunshine, no snow, and with plenty of love and laughter.
We send a special thank you to Dr. Cahill, Dr. Raman and the Lung Transplant Team at the University of Utah Hospital. Without you, your expertise, care, and taking a chance on him, Cecil would not have been gifted the additional 10+ years of life that he was given. We are extremely grateful for the extraordinary care and kindness extended to our beloved Cecil! Words cannot express our gratitude for the additional time you gave him to continue enjoying life to the fullest.
Although we will miss him greatly, this is not a goodbye, it’s an “I’ll be seeing ya”!
Happy Trails!
