Yolanda Jo Spano

February 2, 1953 — May 12, 2018

Yolanda Jo Spano, 65, passed away peacefully at her home in North Salt Lake on Saturday, May 12th, with her children at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents Pete and Youla Spano and her brother Pete Spano, II of Chattaroy, WV.
Yolanda was born and raised in Williamson, WV where she was a 1970 graduate of Williamson High School.  Yolanda earned her Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Marshall University.  She was a programmer for Thiokol for many years. She then started a career with Delta Airlines and retired from the Diamond Reservation desk after 20 years of service.  Her talents exceeded many. She was extraordinarily talented at writing, cooking, sewing, crafts, and serving others. She was a faithful member of the LDS church, and a strong member of her community, where she graced many with her southern hospitality and sweet, loving spirit. Yolanda lived a rich life full of travel, laughter, and love of family and friends.
Yolanda is survived by her children, John Peter and Alexandra Grace Schoppe; step-children, Shannon and Shon Schoppe; her sisters Rose (Pedro) Ledger, and Pat (Greg) Staten of Chattaroy, WV; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.   
Funeral services and viewing will be held at Foxboro Stake Center, 954 West 1100 North, North Salt Lake, UT 84054. The viewing will be on Friday, May 18th from 9:45-10:45 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am. Yolanda will be buried at the Bountiful Lakeview Cemetery.
