September 6, 1920 — December 7, 2015

BOUNTIFUL – Yvonne Black Stark passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at the age of 95.  Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend was born September 6, 1920 to Homer P. Black and Emma Jamison in Blanding, Utah.  She was married to Frank Howard Stark, July 14, 1938 in Farmington, Utah.  Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  As a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in various capacities throughout her life, including ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple.  She attended Salt Lake City schools, graduating as valedictorian of West High School class of 1938.  She was a gifted seamstress and utilized those skills in establishing the successful business of Yvonne’s Fabrics and Bridal Boutique.  Her meticulous efforts to create clothing, quilts, and afghans will be cherished by grateful recipients. Childhood memories included growing up on a ranch in Blanding, Utah. When her mother passed away at age 38, Yvonne, as a young 18 year old, assumed responsibility for helping raise five younger siblings and giving support to her father. These experiences prepared her for a lifelong commitment of offering service and welcoming others without condition.  She demonstrated unwavering faith in our Savior Jesus Christ through her generous outpouring of love to everyone and unconditional acceptance of those most in need.
She is survived by her sons, Frank Robert (Dorothy) South Jordan, UT; Spencer Reed (Sheri), Bountiful, UT; John Richard (Nola), Bountiful, UT; 25 grandchildren, including a wonderful heritage of nearly 130 living descendants.  Preceded in death by her husband Frank, sons, Bruce Alan, Gregory B and daughter Karan.  Also preceded in death by her siblings, Elaine, Enid, Homer J., Keith, and Kent.
