Zahra, true to her name, was a light in every life she touched; she was the bravest person we have ever known. Fearless in the face of challenges, stubborn in the best way—with the kind of strong-will that left her no choice but to stand up for justice, to hold tight to her beliefs, and to never compromise who she was. Zahra was confident, cool—the most original soul—with a style, a mind, and a heart completely her own. To know Zahra was to be inspired in both thought and expression.
Zahra had a gift: she could make anyone feel better, even in their darkest moments—or hers. Sassy since she could speak, we cannot think of Zahra without invoking her biting sense of humor and animated delivery. She brought comfort and warmth into every space, and her joy and silliness were contagious.
Zahra was a great friend, a true one that you could count on no matter what. She had that rare ability to notice when someone needed a kind word, a laugh, or even just someone to sit with in silence. Zahra could also be serene and profound, and if you were lucky enough to be loved by her, you knew what it meant to be truly seen and accepted. With wisdom and insight beyond her years, her presence made everything brighter and more beautiful—but also more real.
Zahra had an unshakable and immense faith in God: she devoted her whole being to him with a purity and strength that inspired everyone around her. Her spirituality wasn’t just something she practiced—it was who she was. She carried her faith with grace and unyielding devotion, guiding others gently with her quiet wisdom and deep love. She never had to prove her faithfulness to God; Zahra knew who she was, what she believed, and that was enough.
We miss her more than words can ever say. But we always carry her light with us.
Zahra, you were too good for this world, but we’re grateful beyond measure that you were in it—even if just for a short while.
Zahra, your light still fills the sky, though your spirit dwells where the angels fly. You’ve left this world, but not our hearts. Your song still sings in subtle ways. We feel you when raindrops fall, a gentle whisper soft and small. You dance upon the morning dew, a spark of joy, forever new. Your sarcastic laughs with us in quiet rooms, chasing away silent gloom. Teaching us with grace, so kind to lead with heart to free the mind. To free our heart, and soul you showed us how. Standing for injustice, whatever the cost. Giving your love, a loyal friend to all of us. Your faith in the darkest of night. Warms our souls, gives light. In every sunbeam, there you are. A golden thread, not gone, just enfolded. Zahra, in our hearts you shine, in our souls you always will. And in our minds eye you’re dancing those sick moves. Dance floor, roller rink or living room. No one can compete. Your greatest gift is love. Impressing in your humblest of ways with every word, gesture, look or touch. Zahra, You ARE love. In it’s purest form.
