Zina Rae Taggart Brown passed away May 9, 2006, in Centerville, UT, of causes incident to age. She was born January 31, 1913, in Salt Lake City, the only child of John Robert Jack Taggart and Zina Ingeborg Larson. She spent many happy years in Salt Lake City and Wyoming with dozens of cousins she loved dearly since she had no brothers and sisters. She met the love of her life Howard W. Brown in Tacoma, Washington, while visiting her cousin Isabel. They had a whirlwind courtship and were married April 6, 1934, in Tacoma. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Zina Rae loved nature, Howard, reading, Howard, animals, Howard, sitting on her patio, and Howard. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, too. Her favorite activity was playing with and reading to her children and grandchildren. They learned all the nursery rhymes and songs at Grandma ?Bean?s? knees. She had a great ability to ?make up? wonderful bedtime stories. Mom was loved by all who knew her. She was ?Grandma? to many of the youth of the Parrish Canyon Ward. She enjoyed serving others and did hours of compassionate service unknown by many. Mom was a great friend and neighbor and had a great sense of humor that would pop up unexpectedly. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings over the years. Mom had an unwavering testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Survivors include four children: LaRae Brown, San Diego, CA; Gerry Rita Brown, St. George, UT; Bob Chris Brown, Centerville, UT; and Linda Gardner Duffin, Centerville, UT; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard, her parents, brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, and best friend Dorothy Yeates. The family wishes to thank the many friends and neighbors who have served and loved Mom over the years. We especially wish to thank the staff at Beehive Homes for their tender loving care and support over the past few weeks. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at the Parrish Canyon Ward, 610 No. Rowland Way 100 East, Centerville, UT. Friends may visit with the family Friday evening, May 12, 6:00-8:00, at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT, and Saturday before the services from 12:45-1:45 at the church. Interment Centerville City Cemetery. We will miss you, Mom. One last wave at the back door!
