Zina Vae Moore Fisher passed away peacefully on April 16, 2012 following 87 years of a fulfilling life. She was born on June 25, 1924 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the fourth of six children born to Samuel Drollinger Moore, Jr. and Mabel Monson Moore. Their Christ-centered, musical, and loving home formed the foundation for Zinas life. She graduated from Utah State University with a bachelors degree in English and a minor in music. The day of her graduation she entered the mission field and served in the Northern States Mission. Following her mission, she taught school and met her future husband, Wayne Ekman Fisher, in a church choir. They were married in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on June 29, 1949 and raised six children. She was a loving and attentive wife and mother. Mom had a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and of Joseph Smith, the Prophet, and in the Restoration. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including Relief Society President.
Zina was blessed with a gifted coloratura soprano voice and love for music. At an early age she performed with her sisters on a weekly radio program. During her college days she soloed in the Messiah and many other university events and traveled throughout Utah and Idaho on concert tours. Later in life she had the opportunity to lead ward and stake choirs, including the Singing Mothers, and a regional choir in the Salt Lake Tabernacle.
Zina is survived by her children Darrell Fisher (Jeanne), Larry Fisher (Paula), Sharlene Montgomery (Gary), Gordon Fisher (Debbie), Dale Fisher (Diane), and Boyd Fisher (JoAnn), 28 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Maurine Shaw, Fern Cope, Luella Miller, and Lanice Monk Miller, and her brother Samuel Drollinger Moore III.
The family would like to express appreciation to the staff and Zinas friends at Legacy House of Bountiful, Tender Care Hospice, and to the members of the Bountiful Ninth Ward for their eternal friendship.
