Zoe Stavros

December 25, 2012 — October 30, 2012

BOUNTIFUL, UT – Zoe Stavros passed away on October 30, 2012. Zoe was born December 25, 1923 in Piraeus, Greece. She married Charles Stavros, on September 20, 1945 and set sail for the United States shortly thereafter, arriving in Utah on July 24, 1946, settling in Bingham Canyon.
Zoe and Charles were blessed to have enjoyed over 67 years of marriage. Together they raised three children, Bill (Gina), Afton, and George (Pamela). She loved her five grandchildren, Chris, Shauna, Jimmy, Shane, Andy, and Greg; and enjoyed her eight beautiful great-grandchildren.
Zoe’s passion was her family. Her life’s work was caring for and loving all of us unconditionally. Zoe was a wise woman. She always found an appropriate Greek fable or saying to teach us life lessons. She provided her family with a home full of love, good food, and strong tradition.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Inn at Barton Creek, South Davis Hospice, and family friend Kara Boeckmann for their kind care of Zoe in her final days.
Following a private service Zoe will be laid to rest at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
Charles recently passed away, June 17, 2012. Zoe has gone on to join him. Their work here is done. They leave behind their greatest accomplishment and joy, their family. May we carry on the lessons learned and honor their memory in the way we each conduct our own lives.
